All tips are received/monitored by our call center. Our call center phones do not provide caller ID, and conversations are not recorded. Information given to Crime Stoppers is protected under Louisiana's Privileged Information statute R.S. 15.477.1. The call taker enters your tip information, and the tip is passed on to the Crime Stoppers Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator then passes the information to the investigating agency. Calls are accepted regarding any crime or fugitive whether publicized or not. By guaranteeing a caller's anonymity, Crime Stoppers allows the caller to give information without the prospect of retribution. By offering cash rewards for information leading to indictments or arrests, the program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to provide information.
